Baxter-Rutherford, Incorporated's mission is to offer quality products through distribution to customers providing the highest possible level of service to our customer base.

Baxter-Rutherford accomplished this by partnering with first class manufacturers and controlling costs through ownership of all facilities and equipment.

Baxter-Rutherford's distribution area covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana, & Hawaii.

Baxter-Rutherford is in the business of representing top quality manufacturers and marketing their products to users through the best wholesale distributors in our marketing territory. 

We accomplish this mission by offering competitive pricing and the highest level of service available anywhere for both manufacturers and customers. 

Our high level of service is provided by exceptional talent in outside and inside sales personnel, warehouse personnel and up-to-date systems. 

We set high standards for our employees and expect a team effort that produces a secure working environment and an opportunity to improve our standards of living.

History

Bruce P. Rutherford originated the company in 1947 and the company was incorporated as Baxter-Rutherford, Inc., on July 1, 1965 shortly after Ed Baxter joined the agency.  Although Mr. Baxter and Mr. Rutherford are no longer a part of the business, we have maintained a strong and steady growth history.  Robert Norwood Sr. joined the company in 1971 and has been its President since 1977.

Baxter-Rutherford is a very diversified manufacturers representative agency.  We market our products through two divisions, namely the PIPE-VALVE-FITTING division and the INDUSTRIAL-CONSTRUCTION-FASTENER division.  Each of these divisions serves a broad base of distribution.

From our 44,000 square foot Seattle, WA corporate office and our 26,000 square foot Vancouver, WA warehouse we service customers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and Hawaii.  We warehouse most all of the products that we represent.  Some of the lines are consigned, however, many are represented by our company on a buy-sell basis.

Owning our facilities and controlling overhead costs is allowing our company to remain in a competitive position.  Baxter-Rutherford continues to invest heavily in personnel, inventory, and systems to insure our future success.
